25 Xanax Pills Later – Mother Can’t Find 3-Year-Old Daughter

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

A mother in Tampa, Florida is being charged with child neglect and violation of probation after taking Xanax pills and couldn’t find her 3-year-old daughter.

Lisa Flores took 25 Xanax pills on Saturday night, fell asleep and couldn’t find her daughter at 6 pm on Sunday night. Flores told investigators that she couldn’t remember the events that occurred after taking all the pills. Police found the 3-year-old at a next door neighbor’s.

Besides the obviously serious neglect Lisa Flores showed to her daughter, it’s clear that she has a serious Xanax addiction. Xanax, a benzodiazepine, is an extremely dangerous and addictive drug that is currently being likened to a heroin addiction. Anyone who has a Xanax addiction needs to enroll in a drug and alcohol rehab. Please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.

Benzos Are Equal To Heroin

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

REsearchers in the U.S. and Switzerland have found that a benzo addiction is equaled to a heroin addiction. Both heroin and drugs like Xanax, Ambien, and Valium which are all benzos work with the neurotransmitters in the brain, releasing dopamine. This new comparison sheds some new light on benzo addiction.

A common misconception among users of benzodiazepines is that if it is prescribed by a doctor then it’s safe. That is simply not the case. The withdrawals from benzos can last for months. Users can suffer from seizures insomnia, anxiety, migraines and a vibration sensation throughout the body. Whereas heroin withdrawals last for a shorter amount and there is no risk of seizures.

Someone that is suffering from a benzo addiction needs to enroll in a drug and alcohol rehab. If you or anyone you know is in need of help please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650.

Are We Over Prescribing Benzos?

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Nowadays people are always complaining about their anxiety and their sleeping problems. But no need to worry there’s an easy fix – benzos! Benzodiazepines are powerful drugs that come in the form of Xanax, Klonipin, and sleeping pills like Lunesta and Ambien. Most people think that what they’re getting is sleep or calmness in a tablet, but what they’re really getting is a variety of different health problems, often times culminating in a benzo addiction.

Dependance on benzos is the same as any other drug addiction, the person begins to feel dependent on the drug, they experience withdrawal symptoms when they don’t take their prescription and eventually the symptoms that they were trying to handle in the first place get worse.

What most people don’t realize is that benzo withdrawal are very dangerous. People who have all of a sudden stopped using the drug can experience insomnia, body aches, seizures, high blood pressure, anxiety, and depression. The only safe way to detox off benzos is under the supervision of an M.D.

Drug and alcohol rehab has been found to be the only real solution to eliminating people’s dependence on these drugs. Narconon Louisiana is a long-term, inpatient rehab that was designed to handle the cravings as well as the traps in one’s mind that force the individual to resort to drugs in the first place.
