Sometimes The News Does More Harm Than Good

Friday, May 28th, 2010

A recent story, outlining Xanax abuse could have been mistaken for an all points bulletin for where to buy Xanax. Instead of reporting on how to get help for Xanax abuse, the story explained how addicts buy the drug, where to buy it, and when is the best time to purchase the drug.

So, for all those people who need some real information on Xanax abuse and how to stop it, here it is:

Xanax is a benzodiazepine. It is in the same family as Valium, Ambien, Clonipin, and Ativan. It is extremely addictive and it is extremely dangerous to come off of. This is mostly due to the seizures it often creates. There are other serious withdrawals from Xanax, those include, hallucinations, insomnia, paranoia, headaches, vomiting, body aches, depression, vibration-like feelings throughout the body, nerve damage, anger and anxiety. In some extreme cases, people sometimes feel suicidal.

Xanax is abused because it does provide a calming-like feeling for the body, this is mostly due to the fact that its original intention was to handle anxiety in patients.

The only real way to handle a Xanax addiction is to enroll in a drug and alcohol rehab. If you or anyone you know is in need of help for a drug abuse problem please call 866-422-4650 for immediate help. Xanax addiction does not have to destroy any more lives.

Mom’s Bra Not Off Limits When It Holds Xanax

A Xanax addiction will cause a person to resort to some pretty desperate measures. Take a Tennessee woman who woke up to her son digging around in her bra for her Xanax pills – while the bra was still on her!

This sort of action is why someone who is addicted to Xanax has to enroll in a drug rehab program in order to handle their addiction. Not only does this drug make addicts act strange but it also presents very dangerous withdrawal symptoms.

Someone that is coming off of Xanax will experience sleeplessness, anxiety, depression, bone and body aches and in some cases they may even suffer from seizures.

Is The Web Pushing Xanax?

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

It is bad enough that tens of thousands of people are being prescribed such a dangerous and addictive drug, but now tens of thousands of people are posting links for “cheap xanax” or “no prescription needed for Xanax!” Incredibly, this is allowed even though xanax addiction is creeping up to the number one drug problem in the U.S. In fact, you might as well see ads for crack cocaine and heroin, that is how devastating a xanax addiction can be.

Most search engines will pre-qualify ads before they are posted, however, there are still some getting through. Often times a person becomes addicted to Xanax because it was prescribed to them or because they stumbled across it in someone’s medicine cabinet. Xanax addicts often cite the fact that Xanax is a prescription so they thought it would be safe. These internet ads are just another reason why a person may mistakingly think that Xanax is harmless.

The only real way to handle a Xanax addiction is to enroll in a long term drug and alcohol rehab. If you or anyone you know is in need of help please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.
